Know us better… at your own risk!
It’s bio time again ya’ll! Hello to all our readers from Devil’s Mistresses #2. I hope that this blog gives you a good laugh, helps you see things from a different perspective, and gets you excited to try something new. I’m not afraid to tell it like it is and talk about things that might make you uncomfortable, so you’ve been warned. Penny should be synonymous with ‘it’s a TMI train wreck that you can’t look away from’.
Even as a shy and scrawny little kid, I had a wild side. I love power tools, plumbing disasters, landfills, alternative female hygiene (more on that later), and doing things that are not typically catered towards women in today’s society. After completing my Bachelor’s in Science in Biology from the University of South Florida, I decided I wasn’t ready for the 9 to 5 grind and started my Master’s degree. For the past two and a half years I’ve been studying ecology and marine conservation, and I finally get to put my skills to use as a fisheries observer in Alaska.
Greek Roots
Being the offspring of two very TRADITIONAL Greek parents, I’ve experienced plenty that will make you laugh or alternatively, blow steam out your ear-holes. My sister, Christina, and I started travelling as kids to visit family overseas. We know the ins and outs of smuggling booze and tasty treats, the pee-squat, and how to cook Greek food that will put junk in your trunk faster than the speed of light.
What the heck is that thing?!
Stick with us and you’ll learn how to travel like a pro (bring on the listicles and how-to’s), eat like a descendant of the Greek Gods, and find the weird and funky no matter where you’re headed. Almost forgot, I love animals – especially cats.
